David was an Israelite who fought a Palestine giant named Goliath. Even though Goliath had a big sword and long spear, David won the fight by hurling a small pebble with a sling at the giant's head and knocking him down. When Goliath fell, the Israelites won the battle. Later, David became king of the Israelites. (Read more in 1 Samuel:17)
