Small child occupation institute
The first illustrated book for children was published in Germany in 1658. The first creche was organized by Frenchman Johann Friedrich Oberlin in 1767. It was originally called the hall of refuge.
The first Kindergarten was opened in Blankenberg, Germany in 1837 by science teacher Frederick Greobel. It was originally called the “small child occupation institute.”
The word creche means cradle in French. Generally, creche is for kids up to 3 years old. Kindergarten is for kids up to 5.
